Weekly Reflection 7- The Camera and The Nature

Weekly Reflection 7
24/ 3/ 2014

Weeks of lectures delivered reached the moment to test our very own skills to practically put all theories into action. As I have mixed mode short course from 2pm to 5pm today, I missed the lecture delivered in the studio room. However, I was still able to join the live capturing practices at Tasik Ilmu UTM. We departed excitedly and as soon as we arrived, Encik Fuad shared with us his recommended settings which was listed as below:

  1. White Balance: Direct Sunlight
(A SQUARE TO LEFT TO PRODUCE NATURAL PHOTOS)
  2. Focus mode: Single Servo
  3. Auto-Focus Area mode: Single Point
  4. Metering: Matrix
After the adjustment, the lessons started! Below were the pictures I took during the whole capturing session.

f/4 | 1/800s | ISO 100 (Nikon D3000@18mm)
f/5.3 | 1/640s | ISO 100 (Nikon D3000@46mm)

f/5.6 | 1/800s | ISO 100 (Nikon D3000@29mm)

f/5.6 | 1/500s | ISO 100 (Nikon D3000@32mm)

f/5.6 | 1/640s | ISO 100 (Nikon D3000@55mm)

f/5.60| 1/640s | ISO 100 (Nikon D3000@55mm)

The ducks were the main character on that day.

It was a great experience to have this hands-on activity to let me be more familiar with the settings and to be able to catch the sweet angle more precisely.
